At Showa Memorial Park in Tachikawa, they have event called “Night Cherry Blossom Walk” between March 29th and April 1st, 2019. The park usually closes at 5pm (6pm in spring and summer), but they open until 8pm during this event days. Basically they open certain areas of the park with some light-up for cherry blossom so you can enjoy cherry blossom after sun goes down. Cherry blossom is pretty during the day, but it’s also very romantic after dark. It would be perfect to bring your date. 🙂
Even if you miss night light-up, I think you can still enjoy cherry blossom at Showa Memorial Park longer. When I went there with my family during the weekend (3/31 Sunday), cherry blossom trees were not fully bloom. Picture in front is what I took during the weekend. And considering the fact that this week is a bit chilly, I think we will be able to enjoy cherry blossom this coming weekend too. Hopefully!
Cherry blossom season is always too short and it ends before you realize it. 🙁 I hope everyone enjoys beautify sakura as much as you can wherever you are. Happy Cherry Blossoming!
P.S. For night light-up event, you have to pay the regular admission fee to enter. Check out the site for the price!
Enjoy!
