Many events are being cancelled due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) in Japan including Showa Kinen Park. Nevertheless, this event has not been cancelled yet. In the case of cancellation, Showa Kinen Park will announce on their website by Thursday, March 19.
However, due to the suspension of using indoor facilities to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID-19), locations for the exhibitions scheduled for March 20 (Fri), 21 (Sat) and 22 (Sun) will be changed to temporary tents installed in front of the exhibition building.
I can smell the spring coming and it’s time to share spring events of Showa Kinen Park. It starts with “Christmas Rose Week” which is help for a little over a week between March 20th 2020 and March 29th 2020.
Christmas Rose is also known as Helleborus niger. As you can see in the pamphlet of Christmas Rose Week, Christmas Rose is not rose!! They are plant in the buttercup family.

Event #1 Christmas Rose Exhibition
They will exhibit rare Christmas rose varieties. Photos of various varieties created by breeders and blooming in the place of origin will be available. You can also enjoy art works related to Christmas rose.
