Do your kids like Thomas and Friends pla-rail? Or do you like pla-rail yourself? Go see Pla-rail Expo in Ikebukuro, Tokyo this Golden Week 2019.

What is pla-rail? Japanese tend to make words short by combining the first letters of different words. For example, Pla-rail is taking “Pla” and “Rail” from Plastic Train Rail Set.

Plarail is a long-running series of railroad toys which originated in Japan more than 50 years ago. 
Children can connect the rails and add scenery parts in any way they like, then run the trains on the tracks for unlimited hours of play.

Here is the information about Pla-rail Expo in Ikebukuro Sunshin City during Golden Week 2019.

About 8 minutes walk from Ikebukuro Station

– Tokyo Metro (Marunouchi Line, Yurakucho Line, Fukutoshin Line),
– Seibu Ikebukuro Line, Tobu Tojo Line
About 3 minutes walk from Higashi-Ikebukuro Station (Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line)
About 4 minutes walk from Higashi-Ikebukuro 4-chome (Tododen Arakawa Line)

(However, buying tickets using above sites are not the easiest… I recommend you just buy tickets at the door. It’s 100 yen more expensive and I think trying to figure out how to buy tickets through above sites will waste your time, which I’m sure is worth more than 100 yen.)

▪️OTHER INFORMATION
They give out a free pla-rail as a complimentary gift. The amount might be limited so hurry!
There is a area where kids can actually ride a train and also area where kids can play with pla-rails for free!
